Roles, responsibilities and functions of each staff are clearly defined in the written format. SGNHC has a unique feature of outsourcing of various support services.
Annual Performance Appraisal of each staff must be done by the Supervisor, Reviewer and Review Committee at the end of each fiscal year. SGNHC follow very clear, transparent and objective criteria to recruit and promote the staff.

Department of Anaesthesiology
Anesthesiology is a clinical science and art which makes patient senseless and pain-free while maintaining safety and physiology of the patient during operation in the operation theater or during the procedures in the catheter laboratory. This field also takes care of critically ill patients in the ICU setting while needs different organ support. In outdoor setting preoperative check-up of the patients and pain management services are included. Similarly to provide knowledge and technique of basic life support during sudden death, checking or drowning is another field of job in the community/schools. The number of surgical procedures receiving anaesthesia annually is about 500 at our hospital.
As such anesthesia doctors are more stressed during their jobs to maintain normal physiology while patients are anesthetized. Moreover, cardiac anesthesiology is much more challenging, knowledge and skill demanding, updated monitoring system demanding and highly stressful job where the margin between safety and disaster is very less. So, the world federation of anesthesiologist and American Society of Anesthesiologist has recommended two anesthesiologists at a time during these operations.
The Department of Anaesthesiology presently has 3 members and provides routine and emergency anaesthesia services to the entire hospital.

Department of Nursing of SGNHC is full of qualified nurses who are trained enough to handle the cardiac patients. Nurses are the pillars for the improvement of quality of our hospitals. Nurses make their knowledge up-to-date by attending various CME classes, seminars and workshop. On-the-job and off-the-job training facilities for nurses are available in this centre. An intensive training is given to the newly appointed nurses. In-charge meetings held in every months and supervision round the clock in holiday also on rotation basis is the unique feature of SGNHC.
The department of Nursing has now 1 Matron, 2 Nursing Supervisors, 3 Sisters, 13 senior staff nurses and 98 staff nurses. One staff nurse is on study leave for B.N. The department of nursing is headed by Mrs. Nita Dangol.
